Life’s Harvest

What does life’s harvest mean? How does it work? Where we start?

Let’s deal with the first item. What is a life harvest?

A life harvest is what we produce in our life. It is the good and the bad things that are produced in our lives. It is the accumulation of that which becomes the outcome of every day, year, and decade. It is the compounded flow of producing positive or negative changes in our lives and the lives around us. The actions always taken for a harvest don’t just affect our lives but all those in are circle or group. It can also affect everyone we encounter. A harvest is the outcome of what we plant. If you plant an avocado seed, you will grow avocados. In turn, if you plant apple seeds you get an apple harvest. Each day we wake up, we begin work on that daily harvest. Depending on what we do we can affect a weekly, monthly, or a lifetime harvest. A harvest is a produced result of what seeds we plant.

How does it work?

Everyday we plant seeds into our harvest. Some of those seeds are bad or negative and therefore, we produce a bad or negative harvest. Depending on how bad it could just affect your day or maybe it could affect you for a longer period. If you go to work and sow positive seeds, such as saying, “hello” to someone or giving a smile, you create a positive daily harvest for you and the person receiving the seed. In turn, if you go to work with a bad attitude and say something rude or have negative behavior, you will be sowing those seeds into your day and others’. It is a constant sowing of seeds to produce the outcome harvest. Not every seed will produce a large harvest. Every positive harvest is a good harvest that comes with rewards. Every negative harvest produced is a bad harvest which comes with consequences. We have the ability to create our daily lives that can affect us for a lifetime. Whether good or bad. If I go out and rob a store. What kind of seed do you think I am sowing into my harvest? What kind of harvest will be produced in my life? Producing a harvest comes from moment-to-moment choices. Every choice is seeds sown in order to create the outcome harvest we will have. If we wake up in a bad mood and start right off the bat fussing at the kids, arguing with our spouse, then we have already planted the seeds for a bad day’s harvest. When we continue throughout the day, we continue to water the crop that will eventually produce the harvest. If we wake up tell everyone in the house how much we love them, we will create a positive and fruitful harvest in our life and in their life. Words and actions are life producing, but in turn can kill a good harvest. If we look back on our lives, we are where we are due to the choices we made, or the seeds we sowed. We need to learn from past failures and begin sowing the right seeds for the right harvest. If you don’t want a speeding ticket don’t speed. If you get one, don’t complain, it was your choice to speed.

Where do we start?

We start every morning when we wake up. We may be at a point where we have sown some bad seeds into our relationships. What can we do about that? We must put the work in. First, we will have to dig up or clear the bad harvest out. We need to bring things to a fresh starting point. If that is by putting pride aside and saying sorry or purposefully losing an argument that you may feel you are right. Pride can cause us to continually sow bad seeds into a relationship. We don’t want to be wrong. Well, in not wanting to be wrong, you are wrong. Once the land is cleared from all the old, then you need to start prepping the ground. Maybe that is saying sorry or admitting to being wrong. Maybe ending a bad relationship that you know is not good for you or the other individual. Sometimes preparing new soil is the hardest part. Changes will need to be made on your part. Maybe you have an addiction that has been caused by bad seeds being sown and you need to get help because addiction is only another form of bad seed sowing. After we have done the work to prepare the land we need to start planting new seeds. Seeds that will produce a positive outcome. We must become builders not destroyers and givers not just consumers. Now that all the hard work is done, we can continue to plant the right seeds and look forward to a good daily harvest.

Let’s make life simple by sowing simple positive seeds into our lives.
